Survey Indicates Growth in Telemedicine Use

The majority of those surveyed said they believe telemedicine produces similar results as face-to-face physician visits and their organizations adopting telehealth is very crucial at this point in time.“Of the respondents,telemedicine 32 percent had already deployed a telemedicine solution for their health care organization, while 17 percent were in the process of deploying one,” the article states. The majority of those surveyed believed that current technology advancement supported telemedicine as a viable option in place of being physically treated at the hospital, clinic, or doctor's office, while 13 percent still believes technology needs time to develop before moving forward.A concern that was stated by 50 percent of respondents regarded licensing and reimbursement measures as the largest obstacle that telemedicine currently faces.
